    Hi,
I just discovered your music watching The Maker. I’m a Spanish short-film maker and would like to use some of your music in one (or several) of my projects. I imagine your music is not Royalty free, and if tha’s the case coul I get a synchro license from you in case I was to use it? Many thanks,
    Rogelio

    • Keep on writing and chguging away!

    • Hey Rogelio, no my music is not royalty free. But I’m happy to consider your request, can you please reply with some examples to your previous films, either here or via my contact form. Thanks!

      • Rogelio

        Hi again,
Here´s a couple of links to two of my films CHINO and The Perfect Immigrant
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rr5SFhGPIjk&feature=plcp
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMNOV5xvD44&feature=plcp
Chino was selected in more than 50 international festivals all around the world, aired in Spanish national TV and is widely used in Anthropology and Law degrees!
The project I want to use your music in, is a documentary showing the changing landscapes of a traditional Spanish village over a year. No voice over, only images and music playing a central role. Not sure how big the audience’ll be but if succesful it´ll give some more exposure to your music… I started the project in July and will stop filming next summer.
        best regards,
        Rogelio

  2. My music is so amazing! I stop playing violin 6 years ago but your music has re inspired me to pick it up again. Do you have any sheet music for sale somewhere? I’m mainly looking for Winter, I cant get that song out of my head (in a good way).

I am just a young woman trying to become a writer. Honestly of no importance, but I feel that I simply must tell you how marvelous I think you and your compositions are, no matter how unimportant it may seem. Your music speaks to me and it fills me with inspiration and light. I’ll be honest, some of your pieces particularly (Angel, Spring, etc.) have gotten me through some very dark times in my time and I’d like to thank you for that. I used to play the violin myself many years ago but due to mitigating circumstances I gave it up. I only have one question, and that is where do you get your inspiration from? Forgive the curiosity but we English always have been known for our nosiness ha ha. Again thank you and I hope to still hear your music many years from now.

    • Thanx for the comment Charley. I don’t really so much get inspiration from “things’ as such. My main inspiration has always been several of the great composers, in particular Beethoven,Bach,Mozart and Brahms.

  4. Paul, your music amazing!
It is a pity that it is now unavailable to listen the full version of your works from the website

    • In awe

It’s a crime not to charge for such beautifully crafted compositions. I can only imagine the incredible amount of time you spend refining your works to this level of perfection. Your album on itunes is a bargain! Congratulations Paul.

      • Thanks Kim. Yes have to cover my costs of getting the pieces recorded – its expensive!

        • Paul, thank you for increasing the length of preview.
          Greetings from Ukraine.
P.S.: your music is very good for writing program code.

I just close my eyes, your music will create a world for me.

  8. Dear Paul:

“The maker”, driven by your wonderful piece “Winter”, proofs again that genius multidisciplinar art cooperation ducts to the finest productions.

Once again, wisely combining powder art ingredients, you all obtained magnificent fireworks of beauty and sensibility.

“The maker” hits the soundless depth of our ephemeral existence, reminding us how short it is, but not in vain.

Your composition “Winter”, combined, acts as a storyteller: epic, sensible, and corageous.

    Thank you very much!
    Jordi

  15. 夙夜

    你的音乐很棒!听起来感觉很好,虽然有些悲伤——但是在北半球的冬季听这样的音乐反而有种痛彻心扉的伤痛!膜拜你……

  16. Hello! Where can I find a melody note”the winter”?

  17. Leo P.

I am just here to tell you, that your music is so beautiful, it simply makes me cry listening to it. I hope to buy your music as soon as you can publish it! I just recently got into classical music although I have been playing guitar for a few years now, and I have never been more motivated to learn more about classical music.

From Germany, with petty tears 😀

  18. Thank you so much!
I have a son who has Asperger’s Syndrome and who is entranced by animation, stop motion video and similar art forms. He shared The Maker with me, and from there I found your music downloads and we both play them frequently during the day. His autism symptoms are often calmed by classical music, and since he has a connection to the video, your music is an added gift to us both. Thank you very, very much!

    Mr. Halley:

I just wanted to leave a quick note to tell you what a great gift you have and to thank you so very much for sharing it with the rest of us. As there have been comments above of the inspiration of your music, I thought that I would share my own.

I have been a musician for over 30 years, playing violin, viola, cello, bass and piano. Throughout my obsession (which truthfully, it always has been) I have played a wide range of music in several venue settings and styles. I cannot honestly give an opinion when people ask what my favorite instrument or composer or style is, as my love is for the infinite and complex characteristics of music itself and therefore can’t choose anything as a “favorite.”

However lately, I have found my interest and obsession waning – I guess I have reached that point where after playing for so long and so much, everything is starting to sound and feel the same to me. While I would never admit it to my orchestral brothers and sisters, I have slowly backed off of performances and have even thought of giving up playing as the recent spate of music I have been through has become (perish the thought!) monotonus.

I found your music this evening through a delightful stroll thorugh random videos, where I ran across “The Maker” and instantly found myself paying more attention to your quartet than the actual video (shameful, as I love stop-action process!)… it suddenly reminded me why 30+ years ago, I started in music and fell in love (with a violin) – it was the chamber ensemble and music with it’s “conversations” of just a few instruments back and forth that fascinated me.

You have inspired me to get back to my roots and find my love of chamber music again. Hopefully one day, I’ll get to buy some sheet music here in my own hometown and believe me – I will instantly recognize the name of “Paul Halley.”

  20. Thanks for the music!
